November 11, 2016 by David Vousden in Classic Rock, singer-songwriter

This weekend HMV in the UK is the place to be for all David Bowie fans. To coincide with the new 'Legacy' compilation HMV Bromley has an exclusive Bowie Booth from today Friday 11th to Sunday 13th. If you can't make it to Bromley then keep an eye on the David Bowie official social media channels to find out which other HMV stores have been assigned exclusive Snapchat filters. Full details follows:

To coincide with the release of Parlophone’s BOWIE LEGACY, hmv Bromley will host an exclusive ‘Bowie Booth’ photo booth from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th November which will allow fans to take on the appearance of Bromley’s most famous son.

Also from Friday 11th to Monday 14th, selected stores across the UK will be assigned exclusive limited edition snapchat filters allowing customers to interact with the iconic looks of one of the UK’s greatest artists and creative minds. Each store taking part will be revealed on the day via clues on Bowie’s social channels.

BOWIE LEGACY released on November 11 collects together some David Bowie’s finest singles from his first hit, 1969’s ‘Space Oddity’ through to the final singles ‘Lazarus’ and ‘I Can’t Give Everything Away’ from earlier this year.

All formats of DAVID BOWIE LEGACY feature a previously unreleased version of the classic 1971 single ‘Life On Mars?’ mixed by its original producer Ken Scott.

In over fifty years from his very first recordings right through to his last album Blackstar, David Bowie was at the vanguard of contemporary culture as a musician, artist, icon and a constant influence on generations of writers, artists and designers. He was, and remains to be, a unique presence in contemporary culture.

David Bowie left a legacy of inspiration in every discipline from art to fashion to acting and beyond but it is for the groundbreaking music that he will mostly be remembered.

DAVID BOWIE LEGACY is an introduction to a whole world of music that is just waiting to be rediscovered by a whole new generation.
