From Suffolk countryside to London town

June 20, 2016 by David Vousden in Bluegrass, Acoustic, Americana, Country, singer-songwriter, Tour Dates

Londoners that crave a taste of the Maverick Festival (in more ways than one) should head down to Kings Cross on the 24th / 25th June as they have teamed up with street food company Kerb to present Noshville. So if you want to hear some great music and sample some amazing food Granary Square in Kings Cross is the place to be this weekend.

Americana special edition of streetfood market set for Granary Square, King’s Cross with a chance to hear some of the great acts appearing at the Maverick Festival including Mississippi troubadour BRITT GULLY, New Orleans duo THOMAS & THERESA, Wichita tornados HYMN FOR HER, acclaimed Texan songstress BARBARA NESBITT and many more….

Maverick London

As summer begins, festival season starts its march towards the fields. Closer to the urban enclaves of KERB, London’s best street food market community, a taster of Maverick Festival will be available on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th June at Granary Square, King’s Cross. Extended opening hours of 5:00pm until 10:30pm on Friday and 11:00am until 8:00pm on Saturday will be crammed with Americana style food, drink and music – with free entry to all.

The Maverick Festival will take place the following weekend July 1st, 2nd and 3rd at Easton Park Farm in Suffolk. This year we are excited to welcome the legendary Robyn Hitchcock, Grammy award winner Andrew Duhon, Bob Harris favourite Robert Vincent, founder of The Mekongs John Langford & the hugely popular Sam Outlaw, to the exciting line up.

A highlight of the festival this year will be:

MAVERICK FESTIVAL WEEKEND - JIMMIE RODGERS TRIBUTE

To help our friends at the Jimmie Rodgers Museum celebrate their fortieth anniversary, we are proud to present a programme of Jimmie Rodgers classics sung by a star-studded lineup of special guests including ROBYN HITCHCOCK, SAM OUTLAW, LUKE WINSLOW KING, DAN WALSH, RYAN COOK, JON LANGFORD, BRITT GULLY and many more PLUS an exhibition of specially commissioned art by JON LANGFORD and MARTIN GLOVER.

The festival features a spacious camp site, bell tent meadow and tipi village, and a carefully selected range of delicious food stands catering to meat-eaters and vegetarians alike with pizza, paella & pasta, Mexican chilli, duck pancakes & crepes, hog-roast and hand-made hamburgers, cupcakes & gourmet milk shakes, all washed down with freshly squeezed lemonade & freshly ground coffee, local Suffolk cider and a selection of award-winning regional ales, wine & lager.
