Maverick Festival 2017 full line-up announced
The Maverick Festival recently announced their full line-up for 2017 with a press launch in London. The event was held at the Gibson Brands Studio in central London, with craft beers and duck wraps a plenty, to get those attending in the mood for long summer days in the Suffolk countryside. The music for the evening was courtesy of Dean Owens, Brigitte DeMeyer and Will Kimbrough. Dean has been working with Will on his upcoming album and judging by the tunes performed on the night it’ll be another good one. All you need to know about the Maverick Festival and the full line-up follows:
The latest additions to the festival continue the Maverick approach of mixing things up with a wide-ranging blend of country, folk, roots and Americana. Artists include:
Justin Townes Earle will be supporting the release of his new album ‘Kids in the Street’ due May 26th via New West. Another artist on the bill that I’d highly recommend is Worry Dolls whose recent album ‘Go Get Gone’ is a gem. An unexpected coup for the festival is the addition of veteran Australian act The Black Sorrows who will be bringing their brand of Antipodean blues/roots rock to the festival. Dean Owens will be following up his appearance at the launch with a festival slot while Erin Rae & The Meanwhiles. The Black Feathers and Sierra Hull are among the many further excellent additions to the bill. I think you’ll agree the festival line-up looks very strong indeed.
“We have looked back over the years and reached out to artists who particularly caught the imagination of past audiences - acts like The Henry Brothers, Stompin Dave Allen, Police Dog Hogan and Brooks Williams as well as keeping a sharp eye on the new generation of American torch bearers like Grammy nominated SIERRA HULL and JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE”
