March 07, 2026 by David Vousden in Classic Rock, News, Pop, Rock

Fittingly, given the gig's location, the limited 3LP Gatefold edition is pressed on recycled vinyl, minus the usual plastic shrink wrap, and packed in a separate paper wallet. Few bands have shaped the landscape of rock music with the force and longevity of The Who. For nearly six decades, their sound, spirit, and unmistakable energy have echoed across generations, influencing artists and audiences around the world. In 2026, the band adds a remarkable new chapter to their legacy with Live at Eden Project - a landmark live recording that captures the raw power, emotional depth, and artistic ambition of their unforgettable July 2023 performance at Cornwall’s iconic Eden Project.

Set within one of the UK’s most sustainable and visually striking venues - a breathtaking network of biomes nestled in the Cornish countryside - the concert stands as a testament not only to The Who’s musical evolution but also to their enduring cultural relevance. Backed by the Heart of England Philharmonic Orchestra, founding members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey delivered a performance that fused classic rock intensity with orchestral grandeur. The Eden Project’s natural acoustics and enclosed structures created a warm, detailed sonic environment that offered a clarity and intimacy unmatched by traditional stadium settings.

The recording reflects this unique atmosphere. Fans have long cherished The Who’s “special location” shows, and Eden stands among the most memorable - a once-in-a-lifetime convergence of music, environment, and artistic vision. The smaller capacity fostered a deeper connection between the band and audience, allowing for heightened interaction, greater emotional resonance, and a sense of being inside the performance rather than observing it from afar. This intimacy, combined with the band’s refined orchestral approach, captures The Who at a defining moment in their modern era.

Live at Eden Project also presents one of the strongest and most focused setlists of The Who’s orchestral period. Alongside beloved anthems such as “Baba O’Riley” and “Pinball Wizard,” the album includes rarely performed gems like “Cry If You Want,” “Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere,” and “The Rock,” creating a career-spanning journey that balances hits, deep cuts, and orchestral showpieces with remarkable fluidity.

  1. Overture

  2. 1921

  3. Amazing Journey

  4. Sparks

  5. The Acid Queen

The first single, “Pinball Wizard,” is available for streaming and download immediately. The track offers a powerful first glimpse into the atmosphere and artistry of the Eden performance, capturing the heightened clarity, emotional nuance, and orchestral depth that define the full release.

Scheduled for release on May 29th, 2026, Live at Eden Project will be available as a 2CD Digipak, a limited 3LP Gatefold edition pressed on recycled vinyl with no plastic shrink wrap and packed in a separate paper wallet, a standard 3LP Gatefold, and across all major digital platforms. Every format showcases the full emotional and sonic range of a night that stands among the most compelling in The Who’s recent history.

Vibrant, immersive, and uniquely alive, Live at Eden Project is the definitive document of The Who’s orchestral era - a recording that captures not only a legendary band in peak form but also the spirit of a venue whose environmental ethos and natural beauty mirror the band’s own commitment to evolution and innovation.

Ike White - Changin' Times RSD 2026 Exclusive Ltd Vinyl Reissue
Mar 3, 2026

An album that has become a much sought-after slab of soul/funk since its release in 1976 will be reissued as a 50th Anniversary Limited Edition RSD Exclusive on Record Store Day, April 18th 2026. The album in question is Changin’ Times by Ike White. White was serving a prison sentence for murder when he was discovered by producer Jerry Goldstein, best known for his involvement with War (the band, not the event). Needless to say, the album was not without controversy, and on his release from prison in 1978, White promptly disappeared. Musically, ‘Changin’ Times’ is an impressive record from an artist with one hell of a backstory, now set for reissue with audio cut directly from the original analog tapes by legendary mastering engineer Bernie Grundman. More about Ike White and ‘Changin’ Times’ follows:

Alyssa Bonagura travels down America's Backroads June 5th
Feb 20, 2026

Currently (Feb/March 2026) on the road in the UK as special guest of Kezia Gill, Alyssa Bonagura will release a new album ‘America’s Backroads’ on June 5th via Lookout Mountain Records. The autobiographical first single from the record ‘Hippies & Gypsies’ is out today (February 20th), and it’s a terrific tune highlighting Alyssa’s delivery and fine storytelling. I’m definitely expecting great things from the album. With the likes of Bob Harris and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler singing her praises, the stars might well be aligning for Alyssa Bonagura. Charles Kelley announces One-Night-Only London show for March 5th
Jan 20, 2026

Charles Kelley will visit London on March 5th, 2026, for a one-off London show at The Tabernacle. The in-demand songwriter, and Grammy award winner, best known for being one-third of Lady A, released ‘Songs For A New Moon’ his second solo album last year which firmly embraced a love of 80’s pop often hinted at, for me anyway, in the best of his work with the multi-million selling Lady A. Seated fan pre-sale tickets go on sale this Tuesday, Jan 20 at 10 AM GMT and can be found here. C2C pre-sale begins at 10:00 a.m. GMT on Wednesday, January 21. General tickets will go on sale this Friday, January 23, at 10:00 a.m. GMT. ‘Songs’ is a cool record, full of great songs, so the London show should be something special.

Let's talk jazz
Jun 23, 2025

In the first of an occasional series, we’re going to talk jazz as we share a quartet of jazz recommendations that we feel will appeal to seasoned veterans of the genre and newer listeners on a voyage of discovery. As a genre, jazz seems impenetrable to many, but not unlike Americana (an obvious RGM favourite), jazz is a many-headed beast that rewards exploration. As I’ve said previously, I don’t claim to be an expert on the subject, but I do find much to enjoy. I’ll admit that, occasionally, I do get scared by oddly cacophonous time signatures, but that’s all part of the fun, or so I’m told. So let’s take a listen to a few examples of upcoming releases that highlight the range of the genre, including a new live release from a jazz legend and a trio that are a bit of a favourite here at Red Guitar Music despite their lack of a guitarist (yes, I have to admit a guitarist isn’t always required when the musicians are this good).
