Country Corner #1 featuring Cabin Fever, Kameron Marlowe, David James Allen and William Clark Green
Welcome to a new feature here at Red Guitar Music, where we round up a selection of recent and/or upcoming new releases that fall under the broad umbrella of country music. For this first instalment, we have two artists from Canada alongside contributions from North Carolina and Texas. From Canadian bluegrass to Texas country/americana, we’ve got plenty of bases covered. Check ‘em out.

First up today, we’ve Canadian bluegrass/americana band Cabin Fever and their latest single, ‘No Back Page’. The band comprises guitarist Kyle Faulkner, bassist/vocalist Jessica McKay and mandolin player Colin Jolly, and their impressive musicianship and lovely harmonies are at the core of this eulogy to small town life.
“Year after year, I noticed the changes that were happening in many of these towns; storefronts closing, more houses for sale, fewer people walking down the main street, and a change in the overall feeling of being there. I was stricken by the parallel between the feelings I had then, and the feelings when our town had lost its local paper, and began to imagine myself not as someone passing through one of these towns, but as an established community member who had spent my entire life there, and who wasn’t ready for the changes that were coming. ‘No Back Page’ touches on those feelings of loss, of unwanted progress for progresses’ sake, and offers a lament on the direction our world is taking these days.”
"No Back Page" is available to purchase at Bandcamp and stream on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Tidal
Cabin Fever recorded both "No Back Page" and previous single "Good Old Days" with producer Matt Weston at his Swamp Songs studio, with Matt chipping in on drums as well. The sessions carried on the spirit of the group's 2025 debut EP It's Only Forever,

If you like your country music delivered with soul by a guy with a seriously impressive voice, then look no further than Kameron Marlowe and his latest single, ‘No Need For Leavin’. Marlowe’s rapid ascent (three albums, multiple RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications, and over 1.6 billion+ global streams) continues with European stops at C2C Festival alongside Zach Top and Brooks & Dunn, a 23-city U.S. headline tour including dates at Billy Bob’s Texas and The Caverns, and a Stagecoach set opening for Post Malone — further solidifying his position as one of country’s fastest-rising voices. This summer, he joins Ella Langley’s “Dandelion Tour” on select dates.
“This one isn’t about begging for someone to stay. It’s about that moment when you know things are slipping away and you decide you’re not done fighting yet.”
Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist David James Allen recently released ‘By Your Side’, the second single from upcoming album ‘Jubilation Potpourri’. David James Allen has a knack for relatable, blue-collar storytelling that is sure to strike a chord with those of us living from paycheck to paycheck, a vibe further enhanced by Andrew Ivens gorgeous pedal steel contributions. Following on from the previous single ‘Platform No. 12 (Old Friends)’ I’d say ‘Jubilation Potpourri’ is pretty high on my list of anticipated releases.
“By Your Side” was originally an attempt to write a more straightforward country song, but he couldn’t stop himself from delving into deep, personal feelings. “I wrote ‘By Your Side’ shortly after ‘Platform No. 12 (Old Friends)’ in the wake of getting laid off at work and being untethered from a day job for the first time in a long time. As I got deeper into the process, it became clear that this was a more raw kind of song about love and companionship as a refuge during a time of burnout and self-doubt. Through thick and thin, we keep pushing onward and upward together and that’s really the heart of song.”

From his first album release, ‘Dangerous Man’ back in 2008, while attending Texas Tech in Lubbock, William Clark Green has released a string of albums, building a large fanbase through constant touring and songs firmly rooted in his surroundings. The autobiographical themes were never more evident than on his latest record, ‘Watterson Hall’, which effortlessly blends rootsy country ‘Whole Lotta Lubbock’ and ‘Cowtown’ with more reflective fare as the singer/songwriter approaches forty with a family to support, ‘Fight To Love Another Day’, and latest single ‘Stubborn and Remains’.
“It feels like everyone’s expecting me to do the same thing I’ve always done, and I don’t think it’s going to turn out that way. Each record is a chapter of my life, and that’s how I’ve always wanted it to be. You can start from the first record and literally follow me on this musical journey, and maybe nobody gives a shit except me [laughs]. … But I think it will be cool for my kids to look back on.”
