Howling Bells singer Juanita Stein will release her debut solo album 'America' on July 28th via the Nude Records label. The Australian born, UK based songwriter will also be playing plenty of UK shows this year with dates booked through into October. As a taster for the new record 'I'll Cry' has been released as a single and very good it is too. The single wears its Phil Spector and Roy Orbison influences well and would be an ideal fit for a David Lynch movie. Those tour dates and the video for 'I'll Cry' follow:

This single is accompanied by a newly-released home video, filmed during recent US tour dates.
Says Stein: "'I'll Cry' is a musical ode to the all-American greats I took my cues from as a budding songwriter. Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline and the work of Phil Spector, all of whom made a significant imprint on my heart, I’m forever channeling that soulful sadness. I’ll Cry is a song that speaks of an impossible love, his resistance, her infatuation. Never a happy ending.”
America is released on Nude Records on 28th July, and will be available on Digital, CD (NudeCD24) and Vinyl (NudeLP24).
