Brian Wilson - On Tour 1999-2007 RSD Exclusive April 18th 2026

March 17, 2026 by David Vousden in Classic Rock, Exclusive, News, Pop, Record Store Day, RSD, singer-songwriter, Vinyl

Fans of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys have been well served in recent years with a host of releases, including a string of box sets. This run continues with ‘On Tour 1999-2007’, an Exclusive release for Record Store Day 2026 that would make an ideal companion piece to the recently released ‘Live At The Roxy Theatre’ set. This vinyl-only release will be available worldwide for RSD and includes performances from Carnegie Hall (New York), Royal Festival Hall (London), UCLA Royce Hall (Los Angeles), CenterStaging (Burbank, CA), the Wiltern Theatre (Los Angeles), and Chicago. Musically, the LP takes a deep dive into both Brian’s solo catalogue and The Beach Boys, with the likes of ‘Desert Drive’ rubbing shoulders with mini-suite ‘Our Prayer / Gee / Heroes & Villains’ which could only have come from the mind of Brian Wilson. The press release, complete with full track details and Brian Wilson, Oglio Entertainment and Record Store Day 2026 links, follows:

Los Angeles, CA-- Following the triumph of Brian Wilson’s legendary Roxy Theatre shows in 2000, Wilson and his acclaimed touring ensemble took that magic across the globe. Now, fans will get the rare opportunity to experience that era in full with On Tour 1999–2007, an expansive live collection arriving exclusively on Record Store Day, April 18, 2026, via Oglio Entertainment.

Spanning performances recorded between 1999 and 2007, On Tour documents one of the most creatively vibrant periods of Wilson’s career. Drawn from iconic venues including Carnegie Hall (New York), Royal Festival Hall (London), UCLA Royce Hall (Los Angeles), CenterStaging (Burbank, CA), the Wiltern Theater (Los Angeles), and Chicago, the album captures Wilson reimagining beloved classics while spotlighting his solo material and personal favorites with renewed warmth, and emotional depth.

On Tour 1999–2007 also serves as a natural companion piece to last year’s acclaimed Brian Wilson: Live at the Roxy Theatre (25th Anniversary Edition), which documented Wilson’s triumphant April 2000 return to the stage at West Hollywood’s legendary Roxy Theatre. While Live at the Roxy captured the spark that ignited Wilson’s late-career touring renaissance, On Tour 1999–2007 follows that momentum outward — tracing how those sold-out Roxy performances evolved into a globe-spanning live era that carried the same spirit, energy, and creative vitality to concert halls around the world.

Together, the two releases form a powerful live chronicle of Brian Wilson’s modern touring legacy — from the intimate breakthrough moments at the Roxy to the fully realized international performances that defined the years that followed.

Anchoring these performances is Brian Wilson’s acclaimed touring ensemble — including the members of his band from the Roxy, whose close creative partnership with Wilson helped define all of his subsequent tours and solo albums.

Featured musicians across the collection include Darian Sahanaja (keyboards, musical director, arranger,- vocals), Jeff Foskett (guitar, vocals), Nick Walusko (guitar, vocals), Probyn Gregory (trumpet, French horn, keyboards, vocals), Scott Bennett (guitar, keyboards, bass, percussion, vocals), Mike D’Amico (drums & percussion), Bob Lizik (bass), Paul Mertens (woodwinds), Jim Hines and Todd Sucherman (drums), Nelson Bragg (percussion & vocals) and Taylor Mills (backing vocals & percussion), plus Andy Paley (keyboards, vocals), Brett Simons (bass),and Gary Griffin (guitar, vocals), along with orchestral contributions from The Stockholm Strings ’n’ Horns.

Together, these musicians capture the energy, nuance, and emotional depth that made Brian Wilson’s touring years such a creatively rich chapter in his career

The tracklist showcases the breadth of Wilson’s catalog and influences — from the sweeping Smile-era mini-suite Our Prayer / Gee / Heroes & Villains, to solo-album gems like Melt Away and Desert Drive, to Beach Boys classics Busy Doin’ Nothing, Friends, and The Night Was So Young. The collection also highlights Wilson’s reverence for his musical heroes with spirited renditions of Chuck Berry’s Johnny B. Goode and Brian’s tribute to Paul McCartney, The Beatles’ She’s Leaving Home, alongside a heartfelt interpretation of Dennis Wilson’s Forever.

With musical arrangements by Brian and produced by longtime collaborator Mark Linett, the album preserves the power and intimacy of the performances while honoring the dynamic chemistry of Wilson’s touring band — a celebrated ensemble that helped define this era of Brian’s live shows.

For collectors and longtime fans alike, On Tour 1999–2007 offers a rare window into Brian Wilson’s golden post-Roxy creative run — bridging generations, styles, and eras into a powerful live document available only on vinyl and exclusively at independent record stores worldwide.

Tracklist & Highlights (Where and When Recorded)

Side A

1. This Could Be The Night (3:16)

(Chicago, 3-10-1999)

A rare Brian Wilson live recording of the Harry Nilsson–penned song. Wilson previously recorded a studio version for the album For the Love of Harry

2. Our Prayer / Gee / Heroes & Villains (7:12)

(Los Angeles, CA, CenterStaging Burbank, 9-26-04 )

A sweeping mini-suite tracing Brian Wilson’s most ambitious modular ideas SMILE, Brian’s 2004 masterpiece— moving from sacred harmony into doo-wop roots and culminating in the kaleidoscopic heart of Smile.

3. Melt Away (2:36)

(Los Angeles, CA, UCLA Royce Hall, 10-16-03)

A tender standout from Brian Wilson’s first solo album, delivered with intimacy and emotional clarity in this live setting.

4. The Night Was So Young (2:16)

(Los Angeles, CA, UCLA Royce Hall, 10-6-02)

A confessional highlight from The Beach Boys’ Love You album, celebrated for its vulnerable lyric and soaring, bittersweet chorus.

5. Desert Drive (3:36)

(London, UK, Royal Festival Hall, 1-30-02)

A 1990s-era Brian Wilson composition written with longtime collaborator Andy Paley, an important chapter of Wilson’s songwriting.

6. Busy Doin’ Nothin’ (3:25)

(Los Angeles, CA, UCLA Royce Hall, 10-6-02)

A deceptively playful favorite from The Beach Boys’ Friends album. Its bossa-tinged rhythm and stream-of-consciousness lyric transform into a joyful, communal live moment.

Side B

1. Drive In (2:15)

(Los Angeles, CA, CenterStaging Burbank, CA 9-26-04)

A Brian Wilson car-culture classic that reconnects the live set to The Beach Boys’ roots in teenage Americana.

2. Marcella (4:16)

A hard-edged rocker from The Beach Boys Carl and the Passions album that stands out for its muscular groove and aggressive vocal delivery

3. Good Timin’ (2:36)

(New York, NY, Carnegie Hall, 10-13-04)

A feel-good anthem from The Beach Boys’ L.A. Light Album, highlighted by classic harmonies and its optimistic late-’70s sheen.

4. Forever (3:20)

(New York, NY, Carnegie Hall, 10-12-04)

Dennis Wilson’s enduring love song, reinterpreted live with reverence by Brian and the band.

5. Meant For You (:32)

A brief, fragile interlude from Friends that adds intimacy and texture to the live set.

6. Friends (3:25)

(Los Angeles, CA, UCLA Royce Hall, 10-6-02)

The title track from the Friends album, marked by its warm simplicity and message of connection that resonates powerfully in a live setting.

7. Johnny B. Goode (3:07)

(Los Angeles, CA, Wiltern Theater, 11-1-06)

One of Brian Wilson’s longtime favorites — Brian and the band “rock out” on this high-energy Chuck Berry cover that harks back to his foundational rock and roll influences.

8. She’s Leaving Home (3:56)

(London, UK, Royal Festival Hall, 9-14-07)

A Beatles classic that underscores Brian Wilson’s lifelong admiration for Lennon-McCartney’s narrative songwriting.

An album that has become a much sought-after slab of soul/funk since its release in 1976 will be reissued as a 50th Anniversary Limited Edition RSD Exclusive on Record Store Day, April 18th 2026. The album in question is Changin’ Times by Ike White. White was serving a prison sentence for murder when he was discovered by producer Jerry Goldstein, best known for his involvement with War (the band, not the event). Needless to say, the album was not without controversy, and on his release from prison in 1978, White promptly disappeared. Musically, ‘Changin’ Times’ is an impressive record from an artist with one hell of a backstory, now set for reissue with audio cut directly from the original analog tapes by legendary mastering engineer Bernie Grundman. More about Ike White and ‘Changin’ Times’ follows:
