Without a doubt, the hardest working band in the melodic rock/AOR community stalwart UK rockers FM are back with a new album, ‘Thirteen’ set to drop March 18th, 2022 via Frontiers Music. The first single, ‘Waiting On Love’ is another in a string of seemingly effortless melodic gems for which FM have made their name and whets the appetite rather nicely for the new record. UK rockers Vega were one of the hardest working bands on the UK scene pre-pandemic and the guys are hitting the road again in late 2021. The recent release of their seventh album ‘Anarchy and Unity’ found the band unsurprisingly receiving great reviews from the likes of Classic Rock, Powerplay and Fireworks. Blue Oyster Cult have announced a run of UK dates for February 2019 with special guests The Temperance Movement. The eight date tour starts in Norwich and includes a London show at Eventim Apollo which, coincidentally, was the venue when I first caught the band live on their 'Revolution By Night' tour in 1984. For fans of Toto 2018 looks to be a banner year as the band celebrate their 40th Anniversary. To start the ball rolling European dates have been announced for early in 2018 and to coincide Sony Legacy will release a remastered hits set, that will include newly recorded material. The band are rumoured to have extensive plans in place to mark the anniversary, with talk of deluxe remastered editions of their classic albums and a box set in the works. I'm hopeful, as a big fan, that all these things will come to fruition, especially with the news that the band are fully involved in the upcoming releases. Hard to believe that Mr. Big released their debut album nearly thirty years ago but the band are still going strong with the release of their latest record 'Defying Gravity' earlier this year on the Frontiers label. The quartet rejoined with original producer Kevin Elson for the sessions and the album was completed in just six days. Mr. Big will bring the 'Defying Gravity' tour to the UK in November with Irish rock act The Answer and sleaze rockers Faster Pussycat along for the ride. 70's inspired classic rock act Cats In Space will be touring the UK in September 2017 and the dates will include three shows at The Borderline in London (this is kinda cool as acts rarely play a residency these days). The tour will support the Cats upcoming album 'Scarecrow' which is due in August. So if you were impressed by the band on the recent Thunder tour, or just love great tunes with loads of harmonies, tickets for the shows are onsale from 10 AM on Friday, June 2nd. Cheap Trick will return to the UK for a short run of dates in June of 2017. The quartet formed in 1973 but are showing no signs of slowing down after the success of their acclaimed 17th studio album 'Bang,Zoom,Crazy...Hello' released last year. Swedish melodic hard rock act Eclipse will visit the UK in April for a short tour. The band will be joined by Finnish newcomers One Desire for a night of essential melodic rock. Both acts have new albums set for release on 24th March via Frontiers. More about both acts, those tour dates and a video or two follows:

Bad Company will return to the UK for the first time in four years for a run of shows in October, 2016. The band features original members Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke. Support on the dates is provided by RSO the collaboration between ex Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora and Orianthi with Steve or Jasmine Rodgers as the opening act. Tickets go on sale June 3rd.

UK melodic rock / AOR act FM have put together a tour during which, at selected dates, they will play their classic Indiscreet album in full to mark the re-recording of the album which is released on October 28th.

UK melodic rock act Vega will release their fourth album 'Who We Are' on the Frontiers label May 13th, 2016. The album was produced and mixed by Harry Hess of Harem Scarem fame. It has also been announced that Vega will open for UK rock legends Magnum on their UK tour with an additional headline show set for May 28th in Islington, London..
