On't Sofa Sessions with Van Susans

A Thousand Horses - New video + UK dates

Nashville country rock act A Thousand Horses will return to the UK in November 2016 for a short tour. The band recently released the title track from their Big Machine Label Group album 'Southernality' as a single and you can check out the video + those all important tour dates.

Heidi Talbot - Here We Go, 1, 2, 3...

Heidi Talbot will release her fifth solo album September 23rd on the Navigator label. The new release entitled Here We Go, 1, 2, 3... will be supported with an extensive UK tour. The album was recorded at home with her husband John McCusker and a host of musicians and co-writers including Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow), Duke Special, Adam Holmes and Boo Hewerdine.

Banditos will put a spell on you July 8th 2016

Bloodshot Records artist Banditos will release a new 7" single on July 8th that will feature a new track 'Fun All Night' coupled with their fantastic cover of the Screamin' Jay Hawkins tune 'I Put A Spell On You'. It must be said vocalist Mary Beth Richardson owns the tune and it's an essential take on a classic. The vinyl is a limited edition of 1000.

Lewis & Leigh to release debut album 'Ghost' August 26th 2016

Lewis & Leigh are set to release their debut album 'Ghost' August 26th on the Celticana Records label which they will support with their own dates and a prestigious special guests spot on the upcoming Deacon Blue UK tour. Shovels & Rope plant Little Seeds with New West

Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent the husband and wife duo better known as Shovels & Rope will release their new album October 7th. 'Little Seeds' will be their first release on the acclaimed New West Records label. The duo recently premiered 'I Know' with The Wall Street Journal no less as a taster for the album. Darlingside to release 'Birds Say' in UK July 15th

July 15th will see a very welcome UK release for 'Birds Say' by Darlingside via Thirty Tigers. The quartet have been compared to The Byrds, Fleet Foxes, Simon & Garfunkel and CSN&Y. The guys are also visiting the UK for a short tour that includes a show at the Cambridge Folk Festival on July 30th. John Paul White to release new solo album August 19th 2016

John Paul White will release his first solo album in nearly a decade August 19th 2016. The album entitled 'Beulah' will be released on the Single Lock label which he founded and runs with Ben Tanner and Will Trapp. Single Lock has been a trademark of quality in recent times with a string of releases that include the excellent Dylan LeBlanc 'Cautionary Tale' album. Ruth Theodore new single and London date

Ruth Theodore will celebrate the release of ‘You Can’t Help Who You Love’ with a launch show for the single at The Green Note, Camden on June 8th. The single will be officially released June 10th on the Aveline label and is the first track from her new album ‘Cactacus’ which is due September 2016. Ruth recorded the album in Oregon, USA with producer Todd Sickafoose best known for his work with Anais Mitchell and Ani Difranco.

Red Guitar Music was lucky enough to get an advance copy of the CD this week and our first impressions are that 'From Wanderlust' Features a terrific mix of acoustic folk and more bluesy songs and sounds like a keeper. Billy Bragg & Joe Henry will shine a light 23rd Sept, 2016

Billy Bragg & Joe Henry reunited to record a set of songs that related to the American railroad. They decided the ideal way to record the songs was to board the famed Texas Eagle Amtrak service for a trip across the USA recording tracks along the way. The result is 'Shine A Light' Field Recordings From The Great American Railroad. The album will be released September 23rd, 2016 on the Cooking Vinyl label and includes songs originally recorded by Lead Belly, Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams and Glen Campbell.

Aukai aka ambient acoustic soundscape artist Markus Sieber will release his self-titled debut album on June 3rd, 2016. The two tracks released so far to promote the album really are quite beautiful pieces of music that feature the Ronroco a stringed mandolin like instrument that originated in the Andean regions of South America. Van Susans - New single and London show

London based alternative folk-rock act Van Susans have UK dates set for 2016 including a London show at 229 Club Great Portland Street on April 28th 2016. The day before their new single, the excellent, 'Seagulls' is released on Beatnick Geek Records.
